Maker Terms & Conditions
Last updated: March 18, 2026
Agreement to Maker Terms
By applying to become a maker (and when submitting a maker application), you agree to be bound by these Maker Terms & Conditions (the “Maker Terms”). These Maker Terms govern your participation in the LayeredPrintz Maker Hub platform, including maker eligibility, job responsibilities, our platform fee, dispute window and dispute process, payout schedule, and how payment disputes/chargebacks may affect payout timing.
Eligibility & Approval
You must be at least 18 years of age to apply as a maker. By submitting a maker application, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Makers enter into legal agreements including Stripe Connect onboarding and tax form obligations (W-9); these require legal capacity to contract.
To participate as a maker, you must submit a maker application through the Maker Hub. Your application will be reviewed by LayeredPrintz, and your maker status may be approved, rejected, or suspended at our discretion.
If your maker status is not approved, you may be unable to claim or fulfill hub jobs. If your maker status is suspended, we may restrict your access to Maker Hub features while the issue is reviewed.
Platform Fee
When you fulfill a hub job through the Maker Hub, LayeredPrintz deducts a platform fee from the customer's item total before paying out your earnings. The fee you pay depends on your tier, which is determined by your lifetime completed job count.
| Tier | Completed Jobs | Platform Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 0–24 | 20% |
| Silver | 25–99 | 15% |
| Gold | 100+ | 10% |
Your platform fee rate is locked in at the time you claim a job based on your completed job count at that moment. The fee is not retroactively adjusted after a job is claimed.
Payout to maker = item total − platform fee
This fee funds Maker Hub operations, including routing, job administration, dispute handling, and payout processing.
Hub Job Claim Deadlines & Status Responsibilities
Maker Hub jobs are time-sensitive. When you claim a hub job, you agree to complete fulfillment and update the job status accurately and promptly as the job progresses.
Print deadline
When you claim an open hub job, LayeredPrintz sets a print deadline of 72 hours from claim time. You are responsible for printing before the deadline.
Shipping deadline
After the job is marked as “printed”, a ship deadline of 24 hours is set. You agree to ship within that period.
Allowed status transitions
You must update the job status using the Maker Hub flow. The platform expects the following progression for fulfillment: claimed → printing → printed → shipped.
Confidentiality & Shipping Information
Maker Hub is designed so that makers do not directly receive customer personal information. When you claim a hub job, you will receive non-PII shipping artifacts needed for fulfillment (for example, QR/label and tracking details).
You agree not to attempt to obtain, infer, or access customer personal information (including shipping addresses) or to share any job-specific identifiers with unauthorized parties. Any information provided to you for fulfillment is for the sole purpose of completing the applicable hub job.
Payout Schedule
Payouts are processed after a hub job reaches the delivery milestone and the applicable dispute window has elapsed.
Delivery confirmation is handled by shipment tracking updates received by the platform. Once delivery is confirmed, LayeredPrintz schedules a payout release based on the maker's dispute window setting.
Standard dispute window: typically 48 hours from delivery confirmation.
Maker dispute window: your maker profile includes a dispute window setting that determines when the payout release is scheduled.
When a payout is released, we transfer funds to your connected Stripe account using Stripe Connect (Express transfers). If you have not completed Stripe onboarding or your Stripe account is not enabled, payout transfers may be delayed or blocked.
Disputes Opened by Customers
Within the applicable dispute window, customers may open a dispute on a delivered hub job.
Disputes can typically be opened only when all of the following are true:
- the hub job has been marked as delivered;
- the dispute window (scheduled payout release time) has not yet elapsed; and
- no payout has already been released for that hub job.
If a dispute is opened, the hub job enters a “disputed” state and the platform may review the dispute. Payout timing may be adjusted in the course of dispute review and resolution, including where required by payment network rules, applicable law, or Stripe's dispute outcomes.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Payment disputes (including chargebacks) relate to the customer's payment to LayeredPrintz, not to your direct relationship with the customer.
If a customer's payment is disputed or a chargeback is initiated, it may impact order/payment status and could affect payout timing and resolution decisions made by LayeredPrintz.
You understand that dispute outcomes depend on Stripe's dispute processes and the rules of the applicable payment networks.
Maker Account, Versioning, and Changes
We may update these Maker Terms & Conditions from time to time. When you apply, we record your acceptance of the Maker Terms version in effect at the time you submitted your application.
Continued participation in the Maker Hub after changes may be subject to updated terms. If we materially change these Maker Terms, we will update this page accordingly.
Termination & Suspension
LayeredPrintz may suspend or revoke your maker approval, restrict access to Maker Hub, and/or cancel or stop fulfillment of certain hub jobs if we reasonably believe you have violated these Maker Terms, violated applicable law, engaged in fraud or abuse, or failed to meet fulfillment responsibilities.
Suspension or termination may affect your eligibility to claim future jobs and may impact payout processing for jobs in progress, to the extent permitted by these Maker Terms and applicable law.
Stripe Connect & Tax Forms (W-9)
Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. To receive payouts, you must complete Stripe onboarding and maintain an account that is enabled for transfers.
If your total annual maker payouts exceed $600/year, you may be required to submit a W-9 tax form before payout releases are processed. If the required tax form has not been submitted when required, we may block or delay payouts until you complete the required steps.
Independent Contractor
You are an independent contractor. No employment, partnership, or agency relationship is created between you and LayeredPrintz by these Maker Terms.
Quality, Compliance, and Safety
You agree to fulfill hub jobs in a professional, commercially reasonable manner consistent with the job's specifications (including material and build requirements). You are responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of your equipment.
You must comply with applicable laws and safety requirements relevant to printing, fulfillment, labeling, and shipping. You agree not to produce prints or fulfill orders that you know (or reasonably should know) violate law or third-party rights.
Intellectual Property (IP) & Maker Conduct
Hub jobs are based on customer-provided or platform-provided 3D files. You must not knowingly infringe intellectual property rights or otherwise violate applicable law in performing fulfillment.
You agree not to misrepresent your capabilities, credentials, or fulfillment status, and not to engage in fraudulent or deceptive activity related to Maker Hub jobs, disputes, or payouts.
Governing Law
These Maker Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
